Complaints and Disputed Payouts
A complaint is not an angry message; it is a document that has to survive being read by someone who was not there. This page describes how a disagreement with a gambling operator is escalated by a reader in Bulgaria — what evidence carries weight, in which order the steps are taken, and where the process genuinely ends. alphawin.biz is an independent information portal and cannot arbitrate anything; what it can do is set out the procedure honestly, including its limits.
Step nought: is this actually a dispute?
A large share of complaints dissolve on inspection because two clocks were mistaken for one. A withdrawal request is processed internally for up to 24 hours, and only then does the payment rail start its own count — up to a day for wallets, ePay.bg, EasyPay and crypto, one to three working days for a card or a bank transfer. Add pending verification and a weekend, and a payment that felt lost was merely queued. Before writing anything, check that both clocks have expired.
The second frequent non-dispute is a bonus condition. If the balance was locked by a turnover requirement that was published in the terms, the disagreement is with the arithmetic, not with the operator. The mechanics are on the wagering requirements page.
Step one: the written record with the operator
Everything genuinely disputable is raised in writing, never only in chat. A usable complaint contains the account identifier as registered, the date and time of each relevant event, the amount and the currency exactly as the cashier displayed it, the payment method with its reference, and uncropped screenshots. Since Bulgaria joined the euro area in 2026 a cashier may show euro rather than lev at the fixed 1.95583 rate — quoting the currency the screen actually showed prevents a pointless exchange of messages.
Tone matters less than structure, but it is not irrelevant. One numbered sequence of events, one requested outcome, no accusations that cannot be evidenced. Ask explicitly for a reference number and for the clause of the terms the decision relies on: a decision that cannot be tied to a published clause is the strongest possible material for the next step.
Step two: escalation inside the operator
Most licensed organisers publish an internal escalation route — a complaints address or a second-line review distinct from day-to-day support. It is used after a first written answer has been received, and it is quoted with the reference number from step one. Deadlines for a final response are stated in the operator's own procedure, and that final response is the document that unlocks everything after it.
Step three: outside the operator
Here the Bulgarian specifics decide what is possible. Supervision of gambling passed from the abolished State Commission on Gambling to the National Revenue Agency, which maintains the public register of licensed organisers and a separate list of blocked internet pages. Whether the operator appears in that register determines the whole landscape: a licensed organiser is subject to supervisory oversight and to the conditions attached to its permit, while a site outside the register offers a complainant essentially nothing to escalate to. Checking the register before depositing is therefore not paperwork — it is the difference between having a route and not having one.
Depending on the nature of the dispute, other routes may sit alongside the regulator: a payment provider's own dispute mechanism for a transaction that never arrived, or general consumer-protection channels for contractual questions. A data-protection complaint about how personal information was handled goes to the Bulgarian supervisory authority instead, and the treatment of data on this site is described in the privacy notice.
What weakens a complaint
- Multiple accounts, shared accounts or an account not in the complainant's own name.
- Payment methods belonging to someone else — the single most common reason a payout is frozen.
- Screenshots cropped so that date, amount or currency is missing.
- A narrative rather than a timeline; a reviewer reconstructs events from timestamps.
- Publishing the dispute widely before the internal procedure has finished, which replaces the paper trail with an argument.
Prevention that costs ten minutes
Confirm the entry in the National Revenue Agency register before the first deposit. Complete identity verification on day one rather than at the moment of the first withdrawal. Use a payment instrument in your own name. Read the turnover clause before accepting a bonus. Keep the cashier history rather than trusting memory. These five habits remove the majority of situations that ever reach step one. Related reading: reaching support and how withdrawals are timed.
